July 3

We have spent the past 3 weeks getting projects done at home and on
the boat.
Golden Lily was on the hard June 22-26, getting the bottom
painted, hull washed and waxed, and the zincs changed. When it splashed
back in the water, we had the carpets cleaned. Our next project
was to
polish ALL the teak! At home we are cleaning out the basement, and
working in the yard. So much has overgrown for 2 summers! Hopefully,
we will get
Golden Lily out on the water this weekend and again next
week. We miss traveling! Lily had an umbilical hernia repaired 2 weeks
ago. It was a result of a slipped stitch when she was spayed 5 years
ago. We were watching it, and it had grown bigger and turned blue.
Turns out it was infected and could have burst, so good thing we had it
fixed. She's healing fine and resting up for some more boating fun!

JULY 19

We took our first boat ride last Saturday, July 11, for a short trip up part of the Connecticut River to
the railroad bridge. It was good to be on the water again. As we came back, the waves increased to 2+
feet and were very choppy. The wind has been picking up more than usual in the afternoons. Lily is now
all healed and there is no scar! She is back to her old romping self again. Jim is busy with Stacey and
Joe putting up sheet rock in the basement and taking loads of "stuff" to the dump. It's beginning to look
a lot better. This is something we should have done 25 years ago!

We are getting ready for the Nordic Tug Rendezvous, July 22-24 in Essex, CT a short ride from our
marina. We have always been away on our vacation trips north every summer and never had the chance
to go to one of the NENTOA rendezvous, so here is our chance. We are leaving tomorrow for 2 free
nights at another Brewer's Yard in Essex, then take the boat over to Essex Island Marina Wednesday
morning. At least if the weather is bad, all we have to do is cross the channel!
