We left Rouses Point at 9:30. It was a little windy with a south wind
bridge after going through The Gut. The bridge opens every half hour.
bridge, you enter the Inland Sea. Burton Island State Park is about 5
miles south west in St. Albans, VT. It is a very unique, semi-remote
island. There is a camping area on one side in a wooded area with tent
and lean-to sites, and a small marina with a beach right next to it.
There are also hiking and nature trails and picnic tables with a fireplaces
to have camp fires. We call it "boat camping"! It is one of our favorite
places to come with our boat. There are no cars on the island. The only
way to get here is either by your own boat or the "Island Runner" ferry
that leaves the mainland to take passengers to Burton Island. It's a
great place to just relax!

The couple from Quebec who bought hull 93 keep their boat on Lake Champlain. We gave them a call,
and they met us at Burton Island. Here's a picture of our 2 tugs tied up together at the dock. It's
amazing how our tugs were built in Washington state, purchased from the same dealer in CT, and we
connected with each other in St. Albans, VT! - OUR NEW NORDIC TUG FRIENDS!
